Therapy
As well as the session itself, rates include time for session preparation, notes, referrer correspondence and consultation with other third-parties as required (with clients' consent).
All rates are set significantly lower than those recommended by the Australian Psychology Society.

Psychological Support Services (PSS)
I also see a limited number of clients under the PSS. The PSS provides a maximum of
18 government-funded psychology sessions to members of vulnerable communities in the
Central and Eastern Sydney Local Health Network.
To receive support under the PSS, you must first be referred into the PSS system by your GP. When completing the referral, you are entitled to request to see a specific psychologist. You can speak directly to your GP to check if you are eligible and start the referral process.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
I see a limited number of NDIS participants where plans allow for a psychologist to provide therapeutic and/or functional capacity services.

Assessments
Assessment rates vary depending on your specific needs, including whether you are being assessed for autism, ADHD or both, and whether you would like a diagnostic confirmation letter or need a comprehensive report.
Assessments involve between 6 - 10 hours of work, including a clinical interview, 2-4 hours of testing, collating, scoring and interpreting standardised measures from multiple sources, reviewing additional third-party information, letter or report-writing, and a detailed feedback session.

Rebates
Medicare rebates
You do not need a GP referral to see a psychologist for therapy sessions. However, your GP may provide you with a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which will entitle you to Medicare rebates for 10 individual psychology sessions and 10 group sessions per calendar year.
Medicare rebates for therapy sessions are currently $149.05 per session for a Clinical Psychologist or $101.55 per session for a Registered Psychologist (including Clinical Psychology Registrars).
If you or your child are under the age of 25, you may be entitled to a limited number of Medicare rebates for autism assessment sessions, with appropriate referrals from your GP and a paediatrician or psychiatrist.
In both instances, the full fee is payable on the day of the session and the rebate can be claimed by submitting your receipt to the Medicare or MyGov portal.
Health fund rebates
Private clients may be eligible for rebates from a private health fund. This varies from fund to fund. Please contact your private health insurer for more information.
